Happy Halloween!!

So in my thinking about what to do for Halloween, I finally decided to do a Drag Queen look.  I just think drag makeup is so much fun with all of the glitter and bright colors and just how dramatic it is.  I've only tried to cover my eyebrows one other time and it didn't work out that well because the glue stick I had was junk.  So I made sure to get some Elmer's glue this time!  So here's my final look!

My daughter took this picture.  I don't have a costume haha so this is what I'm wearing.

I had sooo much fun doing this!  For real, this was the most fun I've ever had doing makeup.  I know you can't really see the sparkles (any advice on how to get glitter to show up on camera???) but I swear they're there.  I used Petrilude's video (the glue stick method) to help me cover my brows.  It worked pretty well.  You could still kinda see where my brows were, even after foundation, concealer, and powder, but with the eyeshadow on it really doesn't matter.  Oh, just f.y.i, shadow doesn't like to apply as nicely on glue as it does on skin.

Then to draw on my new brows I used the brown ELF studio cream liner ($3 at Target) and it worked PERFECTLY!  I was worried about them not looking right but I think they look great!

What I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
88 palette (dark turquoise blue)
NYX "Black" eyeshadow
Inglot shadows 371 M (bright blue), 352 M (skintone color)
NYX JEP "Milk" right under new brow and all over lid
NYX silver liner
NYX ultra pearl manias "Lime" and "Yellow"
Jesse's Girl sparkly white/gold pigment
Bed Head White Eyeshadow under brow
Bobbi Brown "Black Ink" gel liner
MAC "Blacktrack" fluidline
Kat Von D lashes from the Tattoo Chronicles Palette
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black

Face:
ELF blush/bronzer duo
NYX "Taupe" blush to contour
A random no name pink blush I have
Inglot 351 M to highlight under eyes
Same Jesse's Girl pigment to highlight cheeks and add sparkle

Lips:
A brown eyeliner
MAC "Pink Friday" lipstick
MAC "Right Image" cremesheen glass

And then I teased my hair like crazy, which is not my thing at all haha.

This was so much fun to do!  For real, if you ever have a chance to rock some drag makeup, do it!  Ashii had suggested that I do a drag look like forever ago and I've wanted to I just didn't have anywhere to wear it haha.  So trick-or-treating here I come!  I hope you guys all have fun and stay safe!!!  Take pictures and show me what you're being!!!

Help me win!

Hey ladies, I know this is asking kind of a lot but I entered a Smokey Eye Contest on Too Faced's Facebook page and the look with the most votes wins.  I don't know that many people haha so I'm looking for some help.  If you guys could vote for me (I think you can vote once every 24 hours???), that would be amazing!  The winner gets a $250 gift card to use on their cosmetics (and I bet if I won, I'd get something for a giveaway... just sayin haha).  But here's the link!  I appreciate your support!!  Thanks so much!!!!

BEYOND easy last minute Halloween idea... a Golden Goddess look

I know there has to be people like me out there who like the whole going all out for Halloween idea, you just don't happen to be going to any parties so you have a hard time justifying buying a costume.  So that's where it can be tricky to figure out what to do because you want to do something that still looks good whether you have a real costume or not.  So I came up with this SUPER easy idea that really only has one main product that makes the whole look.

What you need: a golden toned pigment.  Yup.  That's pretty much it.  I used a Jesse's Girl (I know they're sold at Walgreens, I'm not sure if they're in the other drugstores or not) glittery pigment that, when you look at the product in the container looks more white than gold, but when you swatch it, you definitely see the gold.

I used a primer on my lid first (as always) and then I mixed a bit of the pigment with some water and made an almost paste-like consistency (just slightly more watery).  I applied that all over my lid up to the crease and in the inner corner of my eye and the outer third of my bottom lid.  This technique, where you wet a pigment, is called foiling.  I've only tried it a few times before.  It makes the pigment more metallic looking and makes them more intense.

From the foiled part, I blended a bit of the dry pigment up to a matte highlight color (for Halloween, I'd probably do this a shimmery color though).  I added a light, basic winged liner.  And then I went bananas adding that same pigment to my cheekbones.  Like bananas (which you cannot see well in the pictures but I swear I look like a metallic sparkly fairy or something haha).  To make that more metallic, I did one spray of my MAC Fix + spray on the back of my hand and stippled my Sonia Kashuk stippling brush in it, then I stippled over top of the pigment I had added to my cheekbones.  While that was still damp, I added more pigment on top of it so it was ridiculously sparkly and golden.

For my lips, I applied Revlon's "Nude Attitude" matte lipstick and took the same pigment and patted it on top of the lipstick.

And then for hair, I'd probably do loose waves with a gold headband or something (I literally had to run to get my daughter off the bus after I did this, so I didn't make this as well done as I should have) and DEFINITELY gold jewelry (which I don't own, I wear white gold or silver).  And if I personally were going to wear this look on Halloween, I'd just rock jeans (or a white skirt or dress) and a plain white t-shirt because I think you'd get the idea of what I was going for without my actually having a costume.  Of course, it would be better if you had a costume, but if you don't this can still work.

And once I finished doing this, I got to go to my daughter's bus stop (which is at someone's house) looking like a golden glittery crazy person haha.  I wondered if I should have told them why I was wearing that makeup but I just left it alone haha, we'll just let them think I'm insane haha.  I know you can't tell from the pictures but I swear, it's SOOO sparkly!

I hope this helps someone out there whether you're wearing a real costume or not!  A few minor details would really make this look, I just wasn't prepared to do this haha, it just came to me.  I hope you all are having a great week!  Let me know what you're going to be for Halloween, I always like hearing what people are being!

Breast Cancer Awareness Look

Hey guys!  Sorry I've been MIA for the past few days, I haven't felt that well so I've just been a bum haha.  But I decided to do my makeup today and to do a Breast Cancer Awareness look (I also entered in the MUG challenge).  I'm pleased with how it came out, my husband called it crazy but what does he know haha?  So here's the look I did!

This one doesn't show the eye makeup very well but I'm diggin the shimmer on my cheeks.
For this look I used my 88 palette, the colors marked with a yellow heart
Inglot DS 496 (a matte white with sparkles)
Inglot 382 M (a bright pink red)
MAC blacktrack fluidline to line.
And on my lips, I have NYX "Narcissus" lipstick topped with MAC "Right Image" Cremesheen Glass.

So I hope you like this look!  Make sure you all do your self exams at home and keep healthy so hopefully, even if we can't stop breast cancer completely, we can catch it early enough so we don't have to lose any more beautiful women to it!  Stay strong and my heart goes out to anyone whose lives have been touched by this horrible disease!  Thanks so much guys!  Love you all!

Green eyes... again?? MAC "Boy Bait" Cremesheen Glass swatches

I know, I know, I've said it before and I'll say it again; I have a thing for army/olive green eyeshadow.  I don't know what it is but I just love it.  So today I really wanted to use my new MAC "Boy Bait" cremesheen glass over MAC's "Myth" (which is the most perfect nude glossy lip ever!) so I knew I'd need to do something dramatic on my eyes to balance it out.  So I went with green.

I used a layer of MAC "blacktrack" fluidline as a base and then I used my 88 palette for the rest (except the highlight and inner corner, which are Inglot 395 P).  Here are the colors I used from the palette:
I LOVE that olive green and tan color from this palette.
Then I lined my eyes with the Blacktrack fluidline.  I used L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara.  I used the ELF blush/bronzer duo and NYX's "peach" blush on my cheeks.  And then I finished the look with MAC's "Myth" lipstick topped with "Boy Bait" cremesheen glass.

Speaking of Boy Bait, I figured I should do some swatches for you.  This was the color that I was looking at getting last time I went to a Cosmetics Company Outlet and when I picked it up, the lady said, "that'll wash you out" so I didn't get it.  Well I got it now haha!

I know you can't really see it, that's partially because of how light of a color it is and partially because it's pretty sheer.

Here are my lips with nothing on them
Here they are with a layer of Boy Bait
And here are my glossed lips next to the container so you can see how they look compared to the tube
haha sorry for the weird face
I think the color is great.  I don't think it's overwhelmingly pigmented at all.  I don't think that, by itself, it washes me out because it's not pigmented enough to.  Obviously my lip color doesn't look just like the tube color but it's pigmented enough to make me happy.  And I just love the texture.  I paid $13 for it and I think it's well worth it.  I do think I'd have a hard time paying the $18.50 that they cost on the website though, knowing that I could get them way cheaper, but that's just me.

Have you used MAC's Cremesheen glasses??  Do you like them as much as I do?  What are your favorite shades???

And now, just because I like taking pictures randomly and don't know what else to do with them, I'm going to show you a couple of pictures from today.  Well this first one my daughter took of me, but I think it's a super artistic looking picture, I love it!
And one of me and my daughter
And my daughter "being a cat" haha

I just like to share some of my personal life stuff on here (not too much) but some so you can feel like you know me and the kind of person I am!

Thank you guys so much for checking this out!  You're the best!

My Makeup Favorites!!

I know a lot of times bloggers and You Tubers will make lists of their favorite things for a certain month or whatever but I thought, since I've never done one before and don't intend on doing one every month, that I'd make a list of my favorite makeup items!

Face Primer:  I really don't have a favorite for this one.  I use Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel (which is not made to be a face primer but it's basically the same thing as Smashbox Photo Finish primer, they both have that silicone feeling) because it's inexpensive for the amount of product you get and it does a good job of making my skin look smoother.

Foundation:  Revlon Colorstay for Oily/Combination skin (I use a mixture of the colors Buff and Sand Beige).  A long time ago, before I really got into doing my makeup, I had bought Revlon Colorstay and I HATED it.  It applied so heavily and looked so cakey that I could not understand why people liked it so I gave mine to a friend.  But after seeing even more people rave about it, I decided to buy it again.  Now I apply it by smoothing it all over my skin in small circles starting at my chin and working up.  Then, in areas where I need more coverage, I dab my 3 middle fingers in the foundation and stipple it over those areas (this works really well around my nose area where my pores are bigger, it seems to help the foundation to not settle there as much).

Concealer:  Well, it would have been Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector but since they discontinued it, I'm going to have to say the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser for my under eye area and Maybelline Super Stay concealer for my redness and blemishes.

Powder: Umm... I don't have a favorite.  I just use the cheap loose powder from Covergirl right now.

Blush:  I guess I'd have to say NYX's "Peach" blush.  I keep buying it and I use it every day so that would have to make it a favorite, right?  I like the price and the amount of product you get.  And I really do like matte blushes because I like being able to control where the shimmer is on my face.

Bronzer:  That would be my ELF bronzer from the blush/bronzer duo.

Cheek Highlighter:  This is kind of a tricky one.  I don't always use products that are labeled as cheek highlighters.  More often than not, I'll just use a light, shimmery eyeshadow like Ingot 393 or 395 P or my MAC Vanilla pigment.

Eye Primer:  Too Faced Shadow Insurance.  I love this stuff.  I have no complaints about it.  Not even the price because even though it is $18 or whatever, a tube lasts me over a year so I think it's well worth it.

Eyeshadow:  Now, I was wondering about how to do this one.  So I'm going to break this into sections:

Favorite eyeshadow brand:
Inglot.  Hands down.  Especially their mattes.

Favorite eyeshadow colors:
Highlight colors:
Inglot 393 P
Inglot 395 P
Kat Von D "Peanut"
MAC "Vanilla" pigment

Bright colors:
MUFE 92
Inglot 372 M
Inglot 371 M
Ben Nye "Chartreuse" pigment
Ben Nye "Cosmic Blue" pigment

Dark Colors:
Kat Von D "Redemption"
Kat Von D "Dagger" from the Metal Orchestra palette
Inglot 450 P

Neutrals:
Urban Decay "Twice Baked"
NYX "Black"
Inglot 363 M
Inglot 407 P
Inglot 419 P
I'm going to include this one here too Inglot 361 M

Eyeliner:  At the moment, it's Bobbi Brown Gel liner but I don't think I'm that particular, I like gel/cream liners.  I'm almost out of my Bobbi Brown gel liner so I bought a MAC "blacktrack" fluidline to use once it's gone.  I used L'oreal HIP cream liner before and that was good, but I figured it doesn't make sense to buy that if it costs more than the MAC fluidline does at the Cosmetic's Company Outlet.

Mascara:  L'oreal Extra Volume Collagen "Blackest Black."

Lipstick:  Ok, I'm not the girl who says, "MAC is the best.  I can only use MAC" blah blah blah but I have to say that I LOVE their lip products.  I have 4 lipsticks from them and I wear those more than I wear any of my other lipsticks.  I just love the way they feel on my lips and their pigmentation.  They do cost $14.50, which is kind of a lot for a lipstick, but I love them so much that I'm willing to pay that.  My favorite lipstick that I have from them is "Myth."  I use it under just about everything to dull down my natural lip color.

Lipgloss:  Here I go again!  I love my MAC cremesheen lipglosses.  Yup.  I do.  More than any other glosses I've owned.  I was all about my NYX Megashine glosses until I got a cremesheen gloss.  I'd only had "Right Image" but I just bought "Boy Bait" the other day so I have something a little less pink to use as well.  I love them.  If you haven't tried them, you should.  I just checked the MAC website and they're $18.50 there.  Wow.  I paid $13 for mine at the Cosmetic's Company Outlet (so if you have one nearby, definitely go check it out!!).

And I think that is about it!  If there's anything I forgot, feel free to ask.  And if you read through all of this, you're a champ haha!  Thanks guys!

An easy, universal Halloween look

Let's be honest, unless someone is really into makeup or special effects, or really artsy stuff, for Halloween  most women will be a "sexy" something or other.  And to quote Mean Girls, "Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it." Haha I love that movie.

So I decided to do a look that you could wear with any outfit if you're going for the sexy look.  It has a very cat-eye quality to it. For the actual day of Halloween, I would just add some false lashes and maybe a rhinestone on the inner corner.  So here's what I did.  Haha I had to tone it down a little and not go completely crazy because I knew I had to go to Target after this.

I edit my pictures in Picnik and at the moment, they have an edit where you can make yourself have Vampire eyes, so I did that.  I think it looks cool
Also, if you have a look that's something that's supposed to be "bad" like a witch, a pirate, a vampire, something along those lines, I'd add red lips and not go as heavy on the cheek makeup.

For this look I used : Inglot AMC 61,
which is a blackened blue with navy blue sparkles (not a favorite of mine at all) but I wanted to use this color since I never do.  It basically just looks black but if you blend it out enough, you can see the blue.  I also used a dark tan color from my 88 palette, and my highlight is Inglot 395 P.  The liner is Bobbi Brown "Black Ink" gel liner.  And if I had lash glue I definitely would have added false lashes because I think, especially for Halloween, this look needs them.

To make the shape, the first thing I did was take a smudge brush and drag the dark blue from the corner of my eye to make the wing at the angle I wanted it and then I filled my lid with the color.  I blended it up from there making sure not the lose the wing shape I'd made.  Then I made the inner corner of my eye come to a point with my liner to make the shape a little more dramatic.

I hope this helps someone out there!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Review

The one product I use that I completely swear by is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Double Face Perfector. I have said before if I was only allowed to choose one makeup product to ever have, that it would have been that.  However, Maybelline decided to discontinue making this product.  What a bummer for me.  So I had to find something else to use.  I decided to grab this, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer.  Here's what it looks like
It would have been more helpful if I had showed you the side that's in English, right?  Whoops haha.
Just a forewarning, you will have to twist this little bugger for days for the product to start coming out.
It has a little sponge applicator

I do not have crazy dark circles.  I just have a little bit of darkness under my eyes that needs some brightening.  I also have little creases under my eyes that I've always had (my daughter has them too) and I've never liked the feeling of a creamy concealer under my eyes, it's always felt too heavy and showed off my little creases too much.  That's why I loved the Double Ended Face Perfector:

One side is a concealer (for blemishes, redness, etc.) and the other side is a highlighter to use under your eyes

This is the highlighting end.  You can see it has a little brush to apply the highlighter with.

This is the concealer end.  This concealer is AWESOME for covering blemishes!  I swear!  Now I'm using Maybelline's Super Stay concealer and that works well too.  Definitely try it if you're having a hard time getting a natural coverage of your blemishes or redness!
Now, this new Dark Circle Eraser works really well too.  The formula is still really light and it doesn't feel heavy or cakey.  I don't know if they just took the highlight formula from the Double Ended guy and put in here?  But whatever, it works for me.  I think I did prefer the brush applicator as opposed to the sponge but it doesn't really matter because I just apply it with the sponge and dab it around with my fingers anyways.  It does a great job for me and it's really all I need to cover my darkness.

Here's my with no product under my eyes

Here's where I apply the eraser treatment.  Pretty, huh?  Haha

And after it's blended in (not set with powder yet though).  I like to blend it out in an upside down triangle shape under my eyes.  I learned it from Kandee Johnson.

And a close up side by side so you can see the difference

As you can see, my before isn't awful but I definitely need some brightening and this does the trick.  I'm not sure how this would work for someone with really dark circles, the coverage might not be full enough.  This will be my new staple for my under eye concealer.  I think I paid around $7 for this at WalMart.  Hopefully they won't discontinue this product on me!  I'd recommend at least trying this product, it's quite inexpensive and if you hate it, most drugstores will take it back no questions asked (with a receipt)!
