Old look vs. new look!
I just think I brought the purple in too far in my original look and had too much darkness in the crease.
What I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
NYX JEP "Milk"
MAC "Teal" pigment
MUFE 92 shadow
"Darkhorse" from U.D.'s Naked palette to blend between the teal and purple
"Naked" from the Naked palette to blend the purple out
"Virgin" from the Naked palette as a highlight
MAC Blacktrack fluidline
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara
Lips:
Revlon "Cupcake" lip butter
Face Makeup:
Carmindy for Sally Hansen Your Skin foundation in "Porcelain"
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid foundation "Buff"
Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser "Fair"
Maybelline Superstay 24/7 concealer
L'oreal True Match Pressed Powder N3 in contoured areas
Covergirl Professional loose powder "Translucent fair" in highlight areas
ELF studio blush/bonzer duo
NYX "Peach" powder blush
ELF Shimmering Facial Whip "Spotlight" (a white color)
I gotta tell you, I was pleasantly surprised with the ELF Shimmering Facial Whip. I squirted a little onto the back of my hand and stippled two fingers in it to spread it out a little and then stippled it onto my cheekbones still using my fingers. It doesn't settle into smile lines when I smile and it doesn't look cakey or super obvious like highlighters have a tendency to do. I really like it (and for $1 you really can't go wrong!)!
I personally prefer my new look over my old one. I think the shape is better and the blending is better. It's just not as intense of a look. What do you think? Which one do you prefer???
Beautiful makeup look!
ReplyDeleteNew is a better-looking.
ReplyDeleteI like them both. The first one you did was more dramatic and this one is a little more subtle. I see you got a lip butter! How do you like it?
ReplyDeleteI think both looks are awesome, but the new version is a bit more wearable since it's less intense. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong with these colours!
ReplyDeleteLove both looks! You can really tell how you improved though! The overall composition of the second look is much better. Your liner is perfect and how you didn't bring the purple in as far really made a big difference! Love it girl!♥
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I was actually really proud of the way my liner turned out on this one haha!
DeleteBoth look good but the second one looks a little more crisp and defined. Love the color combo.
ReplyDeleteThis Brunette Speaks
Both look amazing, but I think I prefer your new look. That teal color is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun idea. You can see how much you've improved. I've always wanted to try this but never got around to it. This is very inspiring though.
ReplyDeleteOMG I love this!! I loved it the first time, but I love it even more now! The slight refinements really make the look and the styling looks great too. I agree with Meredith, it's a cool idea :)
ReplyDeleteI like the new one better. IMO it looks more sophisticated and (urg hate to use this word) mature. I agree with Meredith, you really can see with this side by side comparison how your skills have improved. You really are very talented!
ReplyDeleteHaha it's all good, I'll take mature! I was really pleased with the way this one turned out!
DeleteThis look is much better! Complements your gorgeous eyes so well, love it!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I LOVE THE COLORS TOGETHER. IT IS NOT COMMON TO SEE THOSE COLORS TOGETHER, AND THAT IS ONE CHARACTERISTIC I LOVE ABOUT YOUR WORK, THAT YOU PLAY WITH COLORS BEAUTIFULLY! I LOVE THE NEW VERSION, ONLY BECAUSE THE PURPLE IS MORE VISIBLE. EITHER WAY BOTH ARE GORGEOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteAw thank you so much! What an amazing compliment! I really appreciate that!
DeleteThank you ladies so very much! I appreciate it!!! I really like this redo, it didn't get much love on Makeupbee but I know that it's better!!
ReplyDeleteI did not think that the original look could be any better but I was wrong! VERY well done, and this shows that your technique has gotten better. I love your looks and you, Sonja! <3
ReplyDeleteOMG, I had seen this picture on beautylish about a year ago and have been looking for the original source ever since. I'm so excited I finally found it on makeup geeks website!!!! This has been my top 2 favorite eyeshadow looks since I saw it and I'm obsessed!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!
