Teal and warm brown! And a little makeover on my sister!

There's just something I love about playing warm and cool colors off of each other on the eyes.  I don't know why but I just love doing it.  My sister, brother-in-law, and niece just came down to visit me and they gave me a present, which consisted of a MAC paintpot in the color "Delft", MAC "Teal" pigment, and MAC "In Synch" lipliner.  So of course I had to use them!  So here's the look I did today!

And this is a picture my kiddo took of my puppy and I together on my couch (he's not supposed to be on the couch so he's extra well behaved when he sneaks up there so he let me cuddle on him haha)!

So the colors I used are:
MAC "Delft" paintpot
MAC "Teal" pigment
Calypso Minerals "Torrid" matte pigment (the brown)
MAC "Vanilla" pigment
MAC "Blacktrack" fluidline
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

Cheeks:
Elf blush/bronzer duo
NYX "peach" blush

Lips:
MAC "In Synch" lipliner
the custom peach color from Calypso Minerals (which I'm obsessed with!!)
MAC "Boy Bait" Cremesheen glass

Can you tell I was kinda trying to stick to mainly one brand today??  Haha.

So while my sister was here, I told her she had to let me do makeup on her.  I need practice on people who aren't me.  So she told me ok.  Now she VERY rarely wears makeup so anything to her is a lot of makeup.  So what did I decide to do on her???  That's right.  A smokey eye haha.

My sister before:
And after:
What do you think??
Haha I have to say I was very unprofessional while doing her makeup.  I was trying to pretend she was a client (because eventually I want to be a freelance makeup artist) but it wasn't working out haha.  She was like, "are you almost done?" and I had barely started her eye makeup so that made me crack up (it doesn't help that I was overtired haha) and I just kept laughing.  So she said, "you know, you're going to make clients mad if you just keep laughing at them" so then I laughed harder haha.  Oh well!!

And then while she was all made up I got an adorable picture of her and my niece (who I LOVE sooo much!!) together!

So let me know what you think!!  And just a little heads up, I'm going have a surprise for you guys soon!!!  So keep on the lookout for that!!  Thank you, as always, sooo much for taking time out of your day to read this and to comment!!!

Bright look using Sugarpill "Burning Heart" quad

I still wanted to play around with my new Sugarpill quad that I won from the Makeup Geek challenge so I really wanted to do something where I started with yellow on the lid and ended with yellow again by the brow so here's the look I came up with!

my eyes look huge in this picture haha

I know most of you have probably already seen swatches of this palette but I did some just in case you haven't seen them (over NYX JEP "milk")
I did 4 circles with my finger around each pan of eyeshadow so I'd have a fair representation of the payoff you get with equal effort.  The yellow is the most disappointing.  It's not bad if you pack it on (like I did in my look) but it's not super opaque without packing it on.

When I got done with my look I asked my husband what he thought and he said, "crazy" and I said, "if you just use this palette, it's going to be hard to come up with a look that isn't 'crazy'" because the colors are sooo bright!  But I did my best to make it a bright, wearable look haha.

What I used:
TFSI
NYX JEP "milk"
the red, orange, and yellow from the palette
NYX "white" shadow as a highlight
MAC "Vanilla" pigment on inner corners
Revlon and Wet 'n Wild black liquid liners mixed
(I do this because my Revlon isn't black enough and the Wet 'n Wild is too thick)
and L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

I hope you guys like this!  I thought it was a bit "whoa" but my daughter told me like 10 times how much she loved my makeup so that made me happy!  I hope you're having a great weekend!!

Blue, green, and yellow!

*Edit* I know these colors are beautiful but I just found out that Calypso Minerals has been taking people's money and not sending them the products they've ordered.  So please don't order from them!  I don't know about dupes for all of the colors but Glamour Doll Eyes has a color called "Mingles" which is a good dupe for "True Blue".  I'm so sorry!*

I was so excited when I got my new makeup that I ordered in the mail yesterday so of course I had to use it today.  Out of the colors I got, the one that stood out the most to me is the color "True Blue" so I wanted to make that the focus so I went with that and here's what I came up with today:

I'm quite pleased with the way that this came out.  I think (for whatever reason) that this looks really nice against my eyes.  Here are the swatches again, just to show you
and here's what my order from Calypso Minerals etsy store looked like (the swatches are the colors in that stacker thing, I still have to swatch the others)

So the products I used today are:
Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in "milk"
( I ALWAYS use some sort of sticky base when applying a loose pigment!)
C.M. "True Blue"
C.M. "Sublime"
C.M. "Lemon Sorbet"
just a little little bit of a C.M. matte black pigment
NYX "White" shadow
Inglot 393 P for highlight shimmer
Revlon Colorstay "black" liquid liner
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

Face:
Revlon Colorstay Oily/Combination skin in "Buff" and In"Sand Beige" mixed
Maybelline Dark Circle Treatment eraser thing in "Fair"
Maybelline Super Stay concealer
Covergirl Professional loose powder in "translucent fair"
ELF blush/bronzer duo
Inglot blush 26
Inglot 393 P eyeshadow as a cheek highlight

Lips:
See those 3 lip products on the left in my haul picture?  I used that little tube with the peachy color layered under MAC "Boy Bait" cremesheen glass.

That's my look for today and I'm super pleased with it!  I hope you guys like it too!  Thank you all so much!!!!  Have a great weekend!  I'm so excited because my niece (she's 1 1/2) is coming to stay with me this weekend from New York.  I haven't seen her since June so I'm super excited!!!  Talk to you later!!

I'm a QueenMakeupbee on makeupbee.com! Yay!

I received an e-mail from Tiomi from themakeupbee.com saying that they'd like to feature me as a QueenMakeupbee and they wondered if I'd be interested and of course I said yes!  What an honor!  Based on the other girls who have been chosen to be Queenbees I didn't expect to be asked.  I mean, a few examples of past Queenbees are:

Natalie from Urbanely Decayed

Kassie from Unique Desire

Meredith Jessica from Pigments and Palettes

And Ronnie from Bows and Curtseys

As you can see, they're all so talented I never expected they'd pick me!  But they did and I'm so grateful!!  So go check out Makeupbee to post your own looks, browse the looks of the amazingly talented people on there, to read or write some reviews of products, and to get some inspiration!

Quick post... a "black raspberry" look

This is gonna be a really quick post today.  I used my new Sugarpill "Burning Heart" quad (again, just two colors haha) and did this smokey eye the other day.  I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.  So here's the look!

What I used:
Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil "Black Bean"
Sugarpill "Poison Plum"
Sugarpill "Love+"
MAC "Vanilla" pigment as highlight
a little bit of NYX "Black" shadow
MAC Blacktrack fluidline
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

Face:
Revlon Colorstay for Oily/Combination skin in "Buff" and "Sand Beige" mixed
Maybelline Eraser Treatment "Fair"
Maybelline Super Stay 24/7 concealer
Covergirl professional loose powder in "translucent fair"
ELF blush/bronzer duo
NYX "peach" blush
MAC "Vanilla" pigment as cheek highlight

Lips:
MAC "myth" lipstick
MAC "Right Image" cremesheen glass

I think this is a super fun look, I love the colors together (obviously so do they or they wouldn't have put them in a palette together haha).  And today I got a bunch of new makeup that I ordered from an Etsy store (my first time ordering from there!) called Calypso minerals, I swatched some of what I got, I'll show you more in another post but here are those over NYX JEP "milk"
They're matte loose pigments (which is not an easy thing to come across!)!  And they're gorgeous!  But I'll definitely be showing you more of them soon!  I just got so excited that I ripped open my package and started swatching stuff haha.  I hope you all are having a great week!

Colorful looks! Purple with coral and blue with orange and yellow!

I've been feeling colorful and bright recently so I've been going with that and doing some bolder looks.  I did this purple look over the weekend and I love it.  This would be a look I think I could wear every day and still love it just as much.  I think purple and coral/orange are a color combo made in heaven.  So here's that look:

I used:
TFSI
NYX JEP "milk"
MUFE 92 (the most beautiful purple EVER!!  Not the easiest to work with, but totally worth it!)
Inglot 361 M (coral color)
A smidge of NYX "Black" shadow in outer v
NYX "white" shadow for highlight
Wet 'n Wild/Revlon Colorstay black liquid liners mixed
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

And I don't know if you guys know but recently I won a contest on MakeupGeek (I was super excited because I've entered like a million times and I finally won!!)

I won a Sugarpill "Burning Hearts" quad which came in the mail today!  Here are the colors that come in the quad:

Normally I would have jumped all over that purple but honestly, I've worn so much purple lately, I'm kinda purpled out.  I still wanted to use the palette so here is what I did today!

I took this picture with the flash on
From this palette I used the orange (Flamepoint) and the yellow (Buttercupcake).  I can see why these palettes are so raved about, I needed the smallest bit of color for it to work sooo well!
On my lid is Ben Nye pigment "Cosmic Blue"
And I used a bit of NYX "black" to help blend the blue and orange together
Inglot 393 is my highlight color

This was not my favorite look in the world.  I think it's ok.  In person it's VERY bright.  I'm excited to try the other colors in the palette.  How do you guys like to use this palette if you have it?

That's my bright exciting post for today haha.  And of course, as always, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to check this out!!!

Purple and Gold (with glitter!!) cut crease/Arabic(ish) look!

I'm on a roll!  Third post in 3 days.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself!  I get into a groove where I do my makeup nicely a lot and then I have a week or two where I barely do anything.  It'd be better if it were more consistent but whatev.  So today I wanted to use my gold glitter liner for some reason.  I saw it sitting there and gold glitter sounded good.  But I don't really wear gold very often so I debated on what to do.  Then I saw my MUFE 92 shadow sitting there too and they looked like they wanted to be worn together.  So I went with that.  I know I've done purple and gold kinda like this before but I like it.  So here's what I did today!
I used Kassie's suggestions and used natural light and a flash for this picture

Natural light (thank goodness for sunshine today!!)

Natural light again but no flash.  See how you can't see the glitter like you can in the first picture?

I really like how this came out.  I don't think the cut crease shape I made this time is the best shape for my eyes but I like it anyways.
What I used:
Eyes:
TFSI
NYX JEP "milk"
Jesse's Girl loose pigment a white gold color (on lid and as highlight)
NYX Candy Glitter Liner "Gold"
NYX shadow "black"
MUFE 92
Revlon/Wet 'n Wild black liquid liners mixed
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black

Eyebrows:
ELF Studio cream liner "Coffee"
Inglot 363 M

Cheeks:
ELF blush/bronzer duo
NYX "peach" blush

Lips:
MAC "Myth" lipstick
NYX "Thalia" lipstick

So that's my look for today.  It's pretty dramatic, with the glitter and all, but I think it's fun.

This is a picture I took yesterday but I wanted to show you.  We had the most gorgeous sunset.  Like it was stunning.  Everything had a soft orange glow, it was beautiful!  I just love sunsets!
Isn't is gorgeous??  I could just stare at it all day haha.

But that's all I have for today!  As always, thank you soooo much for checking this out!  I appreciate your support so much!!  Thanks guys!!
