I'm a QueenMakeupbee on makeupbee.com! Yay!

I received an e-mail from Tiomi from themakeupbee.com saying that they'd like to feature me as a QueenMakeupbee and they wondered if I'd be interested and of course I said yes!  What an honor!  Based on the other girls who have been chosen to be Queenbees I didn't expect to be asked.  I mean, a few examples of past Queenbees are:

Natalie from Urbanely Decayed

Kassie from Unique Desire

Meredith Jessica from Pigments and Palettes

And Ronnie from Bows and Curtseys

As you can see, they're all so talented I never expected they'd pick me!  But they did and I'm so grateful!!  So go check out Makeupbee to post your own looks, browse the looks of the amazingly talented people on there, to read or write some reviews of products, and to get some inspiration!

Quick post... a "black raspberry" look

This is gonna be a really quick post today.  I used my new Sugarpill "Burning Heart" quad (again, just two colors haha) and did this smokey eye the other day.  I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out.  So here's the look!

What I used:
Eyes:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil "Black Bean"
Sugarpill "Poison Plum"
Sugarpill "Love+"
MAC "Vanilla" pigment as highlight
a little bit of NYX "Black" shadow
MAC Blacktrack fluidline
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

Face:
Revlon Colorstay for Oily/Combination skin in "Buff" and "Sand Beige" mixed
Maybelline Eraser Treatment "Fair"
Maybelline Super Stay 24/7 concealer
Covergirl professional loose powder in "translucent fair"
ELF blush/bronzer duo
NYX "peach" blush
MAC "Vanilla" pigment as cheek highlight

Lips:
MAC "myth" lipstick
MAC "Right Image" cremesheen glass

I think this is a super fun look, I love the colors together (obviously so do they or they wouldn't have put them in a palette together haha).  And today I got a bunch of new makeup that I ordered from an Etsy store (my first time ordering from there!) called Calypso minerals, I swatched some of what I got, I'll show you more in another post but here are those over NYX JEP "milk"
They're matte loose pigments (which is not an easy thing to come across!)!  And they're gorgeous!  But I'll definitely be showing you more of them soon!  I just got so excited that I ripped open my package and started swatching stuff haha.  I hope you all are having a great week!

Colorful looks! Purple with coral and blue with orange and yellow!

I've been feeling colorful and bright recently so I've been going with that and doing some bolder looks.  I did this purple look over the weekend and I love it.  This would be a look I think I could wear every day and still love it just as much.  I think purple and coral/orange are a color combo made in heaven.  So here's that look:

I used:
TFSI
NYX JEP "milk"
MUFE 92 (the most beautiful purple EVER!!  Not the easiest to work with, but totally worth it!)
Inglot 361 M (coral color)
A smidge of NYX "Black" shadow in outer v
NYX "white" shadow for highlight
Wet 'n Wild/Revlon Colorstay black liquid liners mixed
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

And I don't know if you guys know but recently I won a contest on MakeupGeek (I was super excited because I've entered like a million times and I finally won!!)

I won a Sugarpill "Burning Hearts" quad which came in the mail today!  Here are the colors that come in the quad:

Normally I would have jumped all over that purple but honestly, I've worn so much purple lately, I'm kinda purpled out.  I still wanted to use the palette so here is what I did today!

I took this picture with the flash on
From this palette I used the orange (Flamepoint) and the yellow (Buttercupcake).  I can see why these palettes are so raved about, I needed the smallest bit of color for it to work sooo well!
On my lid is Ben Nye pigment "Cosmic Blue"
And I used a bit of NYX "black" to help blend the blue and orange together
Inglot 393 is my highlight color

This was not my favorite look in the world.  I think it's ok.  In person it's VERY bright.  I'm excited to try the other colors in the palette.  How do you guys like to use this palette if you have it?

That's my bright exciting post for today haha.  And of course, as always, thank you so much for taking time out of your day to check this out!!!

Purple and Gold (with glitter!!) cut crease/Arabic(ish) look!

I'm on a roll!  Third post in 3 days.  Not too shabby if I do say so myself!  I get into a groove where I do my makeup nicely a lot and then I have a week or two where I barely do anything.  It'd be better if it were more consistent but whatev.  So today I wanted to use my gold glitter liner for some reason.  I saw it sitting there and gold glitter sounded good.  But I don't really wear gold very often so I debated on what to do.  Then I saw my MUFE 92 shadow sitting there too and they looked like they wanted to be worn together.  So I went with that.  I know I've done purple and gold kinda like this before but I like it.  So here's what I did today!
I used Kassie's suggestions and used natural light and a flash for this picture

Natural light (thank goodness for sunshine today!!)

Natural light again but no flash.  See how you can't see the glitter like you can in the first picture?

I really like how this came out.  I don't think the cut crease shape I made this time is the best shape for my eyes but I like it anyways.
What I used:
Eyes:
TFSI
NYX JEP "milk"
Jesse's Girl loose pigment a white gold color (on lid and as highlight)
NYX Candy Glitter Liner "Gold"
NYX shadow "black"
MUFE 92
Revlon/Wet 'n Wild black liquid liners mixed
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black

Eyebrows:
ELF Studio cream liner "Coffee"
Inglot 363 M

Cheeks:
ELF blush/bronzer duo
NYX "peach" blush

Lips:
MAC "Myth" lipstick
NYX "Thalia" lipstick

So that's my look for today.  It's pretty dramatic, with the glitter and all, but I think it's fun.

This is a picture I took yesterday but I wanted to show you.  We had the most gorgeous sunset.  Like it was stunning.  Everything had a soft orange glow, it was beautiful!  I just love sunsets!
Isn't is gorgeous??  I could just stare at it all day haha.

But that's all I have for today!  As always, thank you soooo much for checking this out!  I appreciate your support so much!!  Thanks guys!!

A look I'm calling "Get Her Before She's Gonzo" and the FUNNIEST video EVER!!

I love this beauty forum/face showing/blog family I have.  I follow Leticia from Cosmetic's Aficionado's blog (CLICK HERE to check it out) and facebook page and she was so nice as to share a post from the brand theBalm, showing that they're doing a contest to give away a Muppet eyeshadow palette where you come up with a look based on a Muppet character and then some clever name.  Word play is not my forte but I tried haha.  So here is my "Get Her Before She's Gonzo" look!

Indoor lighting:

 Outdoor lighting:

I don't think I'll win (there are a few VERY beautiful looks in the contest) but I think it was a fun challenge.  I might do some more muppet looks just because I want to haha.
What I used:
EYES:
TFSI
NYX "Milk" JEP
NYX "white" shadow
NYX Ultra Pearl Mania "True Purple"
Inglot 379 M (light blue/purple)
88 palette for navy and baby blues
MAC "Blacktrack" fluidline
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

LIPS:
MAC Viva Glam Gaga
MAC "Boy Bait" cremesheen glass

And then my daughter got home from school in the best mood ever (which was strange because she was pretty miserable the rest of the week) and we got to our house and she starts singing "I whip my hair back and forth.  I whip my hair back and forth.." and starts jammin out.  I almost peed my pants laughing at her haha.  So later she was dancing to it still and I caught it on camera haha so here's my crazy child (who happens to lack in the rhythm department haha):
I hope you guys get as much of a kick out of this as I did!!  She got all shy and mad at me for taping her so she charged at me at the end haha.  I've watched this video a million times because she's hilarious and we were watching it together and I laughed and Briana said to me, "I'm not funny in this video, I'm great!"  Which made it even funnier.

I hope you all have a great weekend!  Thanks so much for reading this!!

Black smokey eye inspired by Kassie from Unique Desire!

If you've been following me for a while, or even for a day haha, you'll know I have a thing for smokey eyes.  I just love them.  Black, grey, brown, purple, green, blue, I've even done oranges and reds before, I just love them all.  So I saw a look that Kassie (from Unique Desire, which you can check out by clicking on THIS LINK!!) did a while ago and I fell in love with it!  So I decided to do a look kinda like hers today.  I changed up the glitter location (so my look wouldn't be exactly like hers) and the lips (she used the silver glitterati Violent Lips in hers).

So here's what I did:

Kassie, you have to teach my how you got your glitter to look good on camera!!!

I haven't done a goofy face in like a hundred years so here ya go haha
To do this look I used:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
NYX Jumbo Eye pencil "Black Bean"
NYX "Black" shadow
Inglot 376 M (a matte grey)
NYX "White" shadow (which I've been super disappointed with!  I have to work really hard to get it to work for me)
NYX "Silver" glitter liner
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline

Lips:
MAC "Myth" lipstick
MAC "Right Image" Cremesheen glass
L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

I hope this makes you proud, Kassie!  And I also wanted to say that I'm up to 300 (well, 302) followers!! Yay!!  Thank you all so so much for following me and any comments made are SO appreciated!  I'm trying to figure something out for a giveaway to do soon...  I just have to think about it a little more!!  Thank you all so much for checking this out!!!

Three looks from this past week

I'm sorry I've been super boring and haven't posted anything in a few days.  I've taken some pictures of my makeup but I've been too lazy to upload them haha.  So I finally did it!

This first look I like if my eyes aren't open (which isn't really a good thing, I rarely walk around with my eyes closed haha).  When my eyes are open, it really does nothing for me.

See what I mean?  It doesn't do anything good for my eyes at all

Haha can you tell I changed my mind about my waterline color?  I had it black and then wanted it white.
This look was inspired by Tanja's "When Ken Dumped Barbie" look on MakeupBee (I forgot to put this in here originally, I'm sorry!!)
I used :
Inglot shadows:
 DS 496
372 M
392 M
351 M
A bright pink and a dark brown from my 88 palette
NYX "black" eyeshadow

And this is a look I wore on a date night with the hubby.  I actually got a lot of compliments on it (while we were eating, a guy came over and told me how great my eye makeup looked and how it looked like it should be in a Maybelline commercial haha).  It's been really cloudy out I've been having a hard time taking pictures (I like my natural sunshine for my pictures!!). Some have been taken inside and some have been taken in bad outdoor lighting haha.
(with flash)

(no flash)

no flash again
I used:
Kat Von D "Redemption"
Inglot 388 M
Inglot 379 M
Inglot 351 M

And this last one I did when I was in a neutral mood.  I've done a similar look before but I like it so I did it again

I used:
Inglot 419 P on lid
Inglot 450 P above crease
Urban Decay "Twice Baked" in crease
MAC "Vanilla" pigment as a highlight

And that's about it!  The other day when I went to get my daughter off the bus, the mom who lives at the house where her bus stop is came out to wait for her sons and said, "You'll never believe the randomness... I found your blog."  Isn't that awesome?  I think it's so funny that she found me (I hadn't told her I have a blog).  But I feel relieved because now she knows why my makeup is crazy sometimes haha.

I know these looks aren't that exciting but I figured I'd post them anyways!  Thank you so much for checking this out!!!
