So here is a picture of my sister and I (taken on her phone) the day before I got my hair cut.
And here's a picture from right after I got home from the salon (taken on my phone).
Goodbye long hair! I donated 10 inches. Which is a lot. I like my new hair (not saying I don't miss the long hair). I mean, I've had it this length before so it wasn't as crazy of a shock as if I had done the pixie cut. I still plan to buzz my hair if it does start to fall out.
Now onto the makeup look!
This is yet another look I did with Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I really think they've been great so far. You definitely need a Z palette or something to put them in. You may think it won't be so bad opening up those little packages every time you want to use one but that gets old very quickly haha. So here's my look!
And a quick cute one of my daughter and me (taken on her DS).
Color placement:
1- Corrupt
2- Cocoa Bear
3- Chickadee
4- Vanilla Bean
5- Shimma Shimma (I also used this for a cheek highlight)
I'm so sorry that I've not been posting a lot and even more so that I haven't responded to comments. I do read them all I just don't know how to log on through my phone and I have basically not been on the computer hardly at all. Hence the lack of posts. So thank you all so much for your sweet comments, I really do appreciate them all so much!
I start chemo tomorrow morning at 8:30. I'm quite nervous because I just don't really know what to expect. I know one of the medications they're putting me on will make me highly sensitive to cold. I won't be able to eat, drink, touch, or be in the cold at all. They said I'll need to keep a pair of gloves next to the fridge because if I touch something cold, it will feel like I've gotten an electric shock. And if I eat or drink something cold they said it will feel like I'm swallowing shards of glass, which doesn't sound like that much fun. I'm nervous about being nauseous and possibly getting sick to my stomach. I HATE getting sick to my stomach. So I've already got my anti-nausea medicine, some ginger to make ginger tea, and some ginger hard candies to suck on (apparently I've heard ginger is good for nausea haha).
If anybody ever has a question regarding the cancer itself or chemo or anything please don't hesitate to ask or if you are going through something, please feel free to contact me (you can e-mail me at starryskies214@yahoo.com). I don't want to overload you guys with stuff you don't care about so I'll try to keep my chemo stuff to a minimum, I'm not saying I won't mention it at all because it will be part of my life for the next few months.
So that's all for today! Thank you all for hanging on! I really will try to be better about posting now that I'm not quite as sore. Thank you all so so so much!! I hope you have an incredible week!!
Wow! your eyes are popping with those colors :)

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis *hugs* :( You seem so strong, level-headed and dealing with this so well. I'm sure saying 'I hope your chemo goes well' is the dumbest thing ever, but I'm not sure what to say. I hope it's not half as hellish as you're expecting though. Sending good thoughts your way, and nobody in their right mind would blame you for not posting! <3

You look super with the new cut! That is so kind of you to donate your hair! It might actually be a blessing in disguise because I know (from experience unfortunately) that dying your hair fries it after a bit, now you get to restart :) Love the smokey eye and the "color" by numbers! Wishing YOU the best week possible and lots of positive thoughts! Thank you for continuing to post.

ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic and how excellent that you were able to donate your hair!
ReplyDeleteI was the same way as you during my treatment for Breast Cancer last year, I wanted to make sure everyone else around me was okay. It's just recently that I've been able to talk and blog about it.
Stay strong, keep up that great attitude, and before you know it, chemo will be just a distant memory. I didn't have Colon Cancer, but I can understand really well what you are about to go through, feel free to email me if you need anything.
Sending you lots of healing energy and blessings to your family,
Yvette
I can understand the hyper-sensitivity to cold. I have an illness called Raynaud's Disease. Any temp below approx. 70 degrees has the potential to turn my fingers, toes, lips, nose, ears, etc, black as if I have frost bite. It is extrememly painful!
ReplyDeleteIf what the medicine causes is anything like what I experience, you might also want to be careful putting your hands in water, going down the freezer (dairy, meat, eggs) aisle in the grocery store, etc. You will also get really good at spotting (and avoiding)air conditioner vents! lol!
I'm praying for you girl. Hope the chemo is at least semi tolerable.
ReplyDeleteYou can rock a smokey eye like no other :) Your hair is super cute too perfect for summer actully :) I am a bit late commenting on this so I hope your chemo treatment went well <3 My brother in law had that hyper sensitive reaction too with one of his treatments I cant even imagine dealing with that. You are one tough cookie and an Inspiration <3
ReplyDeleteYour hair is really pretty and so is the look. I just want to wish you all the best going thru all this and really hope the nasty side-effects won't be part of your battle. Hang in there! Will be thinking of you and your family.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks amazing short! I was thinking of going short and now I might just do it!
ReplyDeleteYou are so brave, and my prayers and positive thoughts go out to you! Hopefully you don't get nausea! I wish you the best!
I want to say that I feel for you. I have gone through Chemo twice, its not easy. I am sorry that you have to through such a hard thing in your life. I wish you the best. Chemo is not fun. It hurts to move, your sick to your stomach so you hardly eat. I drank a lot of water, but well since your other med would make that difficult. I am very sorry hon. I wish you and your family the best. I didnt lose all my hair or had any bald spots. But it does depend on your dose and how often. Again I wish you the best and my thoughts are with you and your family. Your very talented with makeup, and very beautiful, just remember that when you are down.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing Loving the hair and makeup:) keep being strong I believe thats the best way to over come anything:)
ReplyDeleteYour make-up is so cool! I really like it :)
ReplyDeleteI admire your gesture on the donations of hair! It's very noble of you. You must be a great man!! And your makeup... I love it!!!
