Army green eyes

I really like green eyeshadow.  Especially the yellowy greens.  I don't know why but I always am drawn to the army greens, olives, and lime greens as opposed to the blue greens.  So this is a look I did using my 88 palette.  I really wanted to create some depth with this so hopefully that come across haha.

Sorry this is kinda blurry
And here are the colors I used from the 88 palette
So that's my super exciting look for today!  I hope you guys all have a great weekend!  I can't believe that tomorrow is October already!  Thank you all so much!

Getting used to my brown hair!

So this has been different.  It's amazing what a change in hair color can do!  The makeup I can wear is different and now different colors look better than the ones that used to.  And I can NEVER leave my house without filling in my brows now (not that I would anyways but now I really can't haha).  So here are two looks (we went to Myrtle Beach this past weekend, otherwise I'd have more) that I've done recently.  They're not super exciting but I like them anyways!

I like how this hair color makes my eyes stand out more, so I kinda tried to play that up a little.

I used Inglot pigment 68, Urban Decay "Twice Baked", a tan from my 88 palette, and Inglot 393 p for this look.

And this one has been a staple in my makeup routine lately (I change the colors though).  It's so easy but it's dramatic enough to keep me happy.  I'm actually more comfortable having a heavy line under my eye than on my lid.  I think it's because of my eye shape.
Sorry about the wet hair!

I used MAC "Vanilla" and "Melon" pigments, a super sparkley gold/white Jesse's Girl pigment (sorry, it doesn't have a name on it) which is so pretty but didn't show up on camera very well, and a little bit of Inglot 363 m to contour my eye.  And under my eye, I put a layer of NYX "Black bean" JEP and then I used a Sally Girl baked purple eyeshadow (sorry, again, no name.) this little shadow is GREAT over a base (on its own, not so much) but it's only .99 at Sally Beauty Supply.

I just got this new facial moisturizer that so far I'm in love with.  If it keeps it up, I'll do a review for you because so far, it's awesome!  I have troublesome skin that usually hates new things so since I haven't reacted badly yet, I have high hopes!

Sorry the makeup isn't amazingly creative but it's getting harder and harder for me to find time to wear crazy makeup because sometimes I have to go to my daughter's school and always the bus stop and I don't want to be the crazy makeup mom haha.  But I hope you can appreciate the toned down makeup as well!  Thank you guys!!

Holy brunette!

I mentioned in my last blog post that I was debating on dying my hair dark and I checked my e-mail last night and saw a comment from FoxyAries that said something along the lines of 'if you want to dye your hair dark, go for it.  If you don't like it, you can change it back.'  And I thought, 'ya know what?  She's right.'  So I went to my bathroom and pulled out the leftover hair dye (L'oreal Healthy Look in the color 5 Medium Brown) that I had used to do lowlights with the other day.

I was planning on doing my whole head that color.  However, that does not work out so much when you only have half a box of dye and a lot of hair.  So I got the dye all through the top and realized I was totally not going to have enough to do my whole head.  Luckily for me, right now there is a huge trend of ombre hair, where the roots are really dark and then it fades to light.  So I did what I could to cover as much as I could then I tried to comb the color through my hair, hoping that would help it fade to the light color.  It's a demi permanent color so I figured if I hate it, it'll fade.  So here's what I look like now!

It's different but I dig it.  I think it's a nice change of pace from my platinum blonde.  I think if it had worked out where I had enough color to do my whole head I wouldn't have liked it.  But I kinda like the fading.  It makes it look a little more realistic and not quite as harsh.

And now my makeup!  I saw a picture of MakeupbyRenRen from youtube's makeup the other day and I really liked it so this was inspired by her.  I used 3 eyeshadows for this (on top of a layer of NYX jumbo eye pencil in "black bean").  I used the MAC Sea & Sky mineralized duo, Ben Nye "Azalea" pigment, and Inglot 393p.

I really like this look.  I like how it's colorful but not overly bright.

Thanks so much for checking this out!!!  I appreciate you all so so much!

3 looks and finally a step towards justice!

This week was my daughter's 6th birthday!!!  I can't believe how fast time goes by.  Yeah, everyone says it but that's just because it's true.  Since I've said that nobody warned me, if you don't have kids yet, I'm warning you.  They grow up.  And they don't stop growing up.  They just keep going!  I know it seems like a silly thing to say but when my daughter was born I never thought about her turning 6.  It's crazy.

So my daughter and I made these chocolate sandwich cookies with vanilla frosting in the middle, then we rolled them in purple sprinkles so they stuck to the frosting.  I brought them into school for the kids, who all stared at me when I walked into the room (I am sooo not a fan of lots of people looking at me, not even if they're only 5 years old, I could feel my cheeks on fire haha).  I passed the cookies out to the kids and as I was leaving, some of the kids yelled, "Thank you!  You're the best cooker ever!" hahaha.  It made my day!

And finally we have formal charges against the man who murdered my nephew!  If you haven't been following me for very long, you might not know that in June my 20 month old nephew was killed.  And it's taken this long to get charges against the guy who did it.  He's being charged with 2nd degree murder and 1st degree manslaughter.  Of course he's pleading not guilty and I think the trial is going to be kinda rough (I wish I could go but it's just not possible) but hopefully justice will prevail.

Anyways... on to what this blog is about.  Makeup!  I still have been lacking in the exciting makeup department but I'm ok with that lately.  I wanted to do something bright, yet simple the other day so I went for the brightest blue I own haha.  Here's what I did (it reminds me of the beach haha)
I like how my cheeks look glowy here haha

The blue is Inglot 351 M and the sandy color above that is from my 88 palette, my highlight is Inglot 393 P.

And this next look is what I wore when I brought the cookies to my daughter's school.  Whenever I have to do something for her school, I always feel like I should definitely tone down the makeup.  I don't want to be the crazy mom, ya know?  So here's my super exciting mom look

I had been debating on dying my hair dark.  The only thing I would have against doing that would be if I hate it, how do I go blonde again?  So I grabbed a box of semi-permanent dye and painted on chunks of dark to get some dark in my hair to get it out of my system haha (I don't know if you can see in these pictures).  I think it looks a lot different and husband didn't even notice.  What do you think?  Should I dye my hair all dark?  Or are the lowlights enough?

And my last look, I wanted to do something soft and romantic feeling.   So here's what I did for that

I used my MAC fluidline in "Rich Ground" as a base and then used random browns and purples from my 88 palette for this.  Pink cheeks are tough when you really don't own a pink blush.  So I used my peachy ones and then threw on a bit of pink shadow to make it more pink.  I have Revlon's Just Bitten lipstain "Passion" under MAC "Creme Cup" lipstick for my lip color.

Thank you all so so so much for following me and taking time out of your day to check this!  It means so so much to me!  Thank you!!!

P.S. This little chunk is to answer Meme's question about my last post.  She asked which colors from the 88 palette I had used so here are the colors I used!
Thanks again guys!!

Two weekend looks

The first look I did this weekend, I kinda had something along the lines of Kim Kardashian in mind.  I didn't want to do something as dramatic as she does (hence the lack of false lashes and lots of liner) but I wanted to stay in her style a bit.  So here's what I did
Sorry again for the weird face, it was super bright out haha

I honestly could not even tell you what shadows I used for this because I used so many different browns (Inglot, 88 palette, Kat Von D, etc.) that who knows what I used.  And I obviously don't look anything like her so that kinda detracts from any similarities haha.

And then today, as you already know I'm sure, was 9/11.  The 10 year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and attempt on the Capitol building.  I wanted to share this AMAZING video with you.  I love this.
Isn't it amazing?  I think it's great.

But I saw this beautiful picture and wanted to do a look inspired by it.  Nothing literal because I have no idea how to do towers on my eyelids without looking like a crazy person haha

I love all of the different colors in the background and beautiful the light is between the towers so here's the look I did

I just tried to take some of the colors in there (they're a little brighter though) and the main thing I wanted the same was to keep the inner corners of my eyes looking bright and alive.  I used my 88 palette for this except the shimmer on my browbone and inner corners, which is Inglot 395 P.  I have Revlon's "Soft Nude" lipstick on.  I do actually have a lot of grey on but it translated blue in my pictures.

So that was my 9/11 look (even though I just stayed home all day).  It didn't come out as well and it definitely didn't translate to film as well as I was hoping but it's ok.  I hope you can see my inspiration in there somewhere!  It was 10 years ago but we're still fighting the war and I want to thank and honor anyone who  lost their lives and thank anyone who may have lost family, friends, acquaintances, anyone they have known or been close to because of this war.  Whether it was on 9/11/01 or any time since.  And thank you to those who continue to serve our country and your families.  Thank you all for your sacrifice!

And thank you, my blog followers, for hanging in there with me and supporting me!  I appreciate you all so very much!!  You're all amazing!

I've packed my "angry eyes"

Haha, if you've seen Toy Story 2 as many times as I have, you know that line!  I didn't know what to call this so that's the best I could do!  I really haven't been wearing much makeup, as I usually just throw a little bit on before I walk my daughter out to her bus stop and that's it for the day.  And also, I don't know if skin changes every 13 years or something, but my skin has literally been showing me how much it hates my guts.  Yeah, it's been awesome.  I say every 13 years because the weekend of my 13th birthday was when I discovered that my skin likes to do its own thing.  And it showed me that same thing this past week.  So I've been giving my skin a bit of a break.

Today I haven't really been in the best of moods (at least I can admit it!) and I haven't been wearing any fun makeup so I really wanted to do something a little darker and more dramatic.  All I knew is I wanted black, not a sexy, smokey black, but an angry black.  So here's what I did
I've got my angry face on haha and this is super heavily edited.  I played around a lot with the black and white threshold.

I was going to wear false lashes but I couldn't find my lash glue.  I swear I have to get a new one every time I want to wear false lashes because somehow I always lose it.  Oh well!

I wasn't really meaning for this to be a cut crease but that's just how it worked out.  I didn't so much have a plan, I just kinda went with it.  I used tape to make my line on the outer corner harsh.  Then I put down a layer of NYX jumbo eye pencil in "black bean" and I used Inglot 350 P on my lid (a rusty, purpley color).
Then I used NYX "Black" shadow, obviously, for the black.  And the colors above the black are all colors from the 88 palette.  The color on the inner corner of my eyes is Inglot 393 P.  I used Bobbi Brown gel liner in "Black Ink."  And I used L'oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara layered on top of L'oreal Extreme Volume Collagen mascara (hey, I had to try to make up for the lack of false lashes!).

I watched Meredith Jessica's tutorial yesterday (which you can, and definitely should, check out by clicking RIGHT HERE!) so I have to let her know that the inner corner of the bottom liner was inspired by her!  I love how it makes looks seem more dramatic.

I did a decent amount of contouring on my cheeks using the ELF blush/brozer duo.  And I used Revlon "Nude Attitude" matte lipstick because I wanted the focus to be on my eyes.

Do you guys ever do looks based on your moods?  I usually do the opposite of how I'm feeling, like normally, on a day like today, I would wear next to no makeup.  But I really wanted to do something since I've been so boring.  Thank you all so much for checking this out!  Sorry it took me so long to post!!

Purple birthday look and some extra random stuff

The other day was my 26th birthday and I knew it was going to be hard for me.  I always have kind of a hard time for a little bit after my family leaves after a visit and then my daughter had school, which is hard because she and I have been attached at the hip since she was born, and then my husband had to work.  Not that I think that my birthday has to be a big deal, but I don't like being alone.

Luckily, I have the best husband ever and he took the day off from work so he got to stay home with me!  And I think he doesn't know my birthday so about a month before, I start reminding him that it's coming up haha.  So he did remember and he got me this super pretty Pandora bead for my bracelet:
and he also got me a copy of "The Proposal" which is a movie that makes me die laughing.  I literally almost peed my pants the first time I watched it.  And then we all went out for dinner, so it was definitely a good day and not the bummer I thought it probably would be.

But here's the look I did.  Since my hubby was home, I didn't want to spend the whole day getting ready so I went with a pretty simple look

The colors I used were:
Inglot AMC 71 on the inner and outer thirds of my lid and in the crease
NYX Ultra Pearl Mania "Silver" on middle third
Inglot 392 M above crease
And Inglot DS 496 as a highlight

And then here's a couple of pictures of my kiddo on her first day of school (which was a week ago)
Her cheesy smile
With her little backpack
Waiting for the school bus,
even though it never came that first morning
And then some great news today!  My daughter came home with "Bob."  Bob is a stuffed Build-a-Bear dog that the child who was best behaved that day gets to bring home at night.  So that made me super proud that she came home with Bob.  She goes, "You know what I said on the bus?" and I said, "What?" and she goes, "I said, 'I bet Mommy's going to be so proud of me.'"  And she's so right!  It made my eyes fill up.  I'm such a sap, I can't even handle it.

But that's about it for today.  Sorry to overwhelm you with my proud mama moments, but she's so cute!  Thanks again for sticking with me guys!
